Adelaide forward Josh Jenkins has spoken out about trade rumours, suggesting there's always a possibility, but is probably just a "fair reach."

According to the initial report, a number of clubs including Hawthorn, Essendon and Melbourne were named as possible suitors for Jenkins, although when speaking on SEN radio, the 30-year-old was quick to pour water on the rumours.

“I guess there a possibility,’’ Jenkins said.

“It’s a fair reach, funnily I had my brother reach out to me. He reached out to me asking if I was being traded because he saw something was on Facebook.

“I was in this situation, only for one week admittedly in 2017 and got to play a Grand Final, things can change quickly but it would be a fair stretch to make that assumption at the moment."

Despite not playing since round four, Jenkins believes it's only a matter of time before he cements himself back in the Crows' line-up.

“I’ve been really lucky to play 20 games or more the last five season,’’ Jenkins said.

“I also understand there is still 14 AFL games to go plus hopefully some finals footy.

“It’s taken longer than I hoped, but there is still 14 games to go and at some point I believe I’ll be back in the team.

“I’ll just back myself, my belief and my ability that I won’t be at the lower level long term, I feel like I’ll be back in the team soon,’’ he said.
