Jesse Hogan has put pen to paper, extending his time at the Giants for another two years.
Following a strong start to the season and arguably some career-best form, it is no surprise that the club has locked Hogan away until the end of 2026.
With hauls of four and six against Collingwood and North Melbourne, the 29-year-old is starting to show his true potential, which has trickled through his 11-season, three-club career thus far.
Originally drafted by Melbourne in 2012, Hogan's had a rollercoaster of a ride, departing the Demons and joining Fremantle in his home state.
Due to injury and poor form, the 29-year-old featured a measly 18 times for the Dockers before seeking a fresh start, where he was snapped up by the Giants.
The former Demon has kicked 116 goals in his 53 outings for the 'Orange Tsunami' and is a key component up forward, alongside inexperienced paring Aaron Cadman and Jake Riccardi.
“I think every time you sign a contract there's a period of relief,” Hogan said.
“I'm grateful to get it done early in the year and to not have it drag out.
“I never wanted to leave. I've enjoyed my footy here and we've got a super tight-knit group. I mean, besides how expensive (Sydney) is, it's really good.
“Coming to a footy club at an older age, I got here when I was 26 or 27, it's a bit harder because most of the friendships are made because they got drafted together. But the Giants were different because everyone was from different parts of Australia.
“Honestly, the culture at this footy club was good when I got here, but where it's at now, it's the best culture I've been at by a long way.”
GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, is thrilled to lock away Hogan for another two seasons, highlighting his impact since joining the club.
“Jesse has been tremendous for the footy club since arriving in 2021 and we are delighted he'll remain a GIANT for at least two more years,” McCartney said.
“Jesse's settled in very well at the GIANTS and that's showing in his performances over the past few seasons, which is really exciting.
“Leading the way up forward alongside Toby Greene and the rest of the forward line, Jesse is a huge piece of our puzzle, and we can't wait to see what he can continue to produce for the club across this season and the next two years as we strive for the ultimate success.”
