Carlton football director and Footy Classified panellist Chris Judd was the centre of attention on Monday night's edition of the Channel 9 program, but still managed to get a shot in at Fox Footy's Garry Lyon.
Lyon spoke about the Blues' decision to sack Brendon Bolton on On The Couch on Monday night, and said Carlton's board should also be in the firing line after another failed coach.
โThey wonโt go. But Iโm holding them to account to what they said two weeks ago,โ Lyon said.
โWhen you back your man in unequivocally and then two weeks later you sack him โฆ the right thing to do would be to go. He (Chris Judd) wonโt go. But the noble thing would be to go.โ
โLie to us all you want but donโt get sh***y when we donโt believe you."
Judd took umbrage to Lyon's comments, and told Footy Classified he won't be taking advice from Lyon on how to conduct himself.
โGarryโs entitled to his opinion,โ Judd said.
โYou wonโt be surprised that I donโt look at him as a shining light on how I should act. Thatโs his call and so be it.
โI loved Garry Lyon when I was growing up, we donโt have to agree on all topics. Clearly Iโm answerable to the members and the other members of the board.โ
However, Lyon wasn't the only one questioning Judd's worth at Carlton, with former Blues great Mark Maclure wondering just how important Judd is in the Blues' ranks.
โI donโt know what Chris Judd has done,โ Maclure told foxsports.com.au.
โI work in a business where people question us every day. The numbers come through and if they are not so good why arenโt they on the phone to them? Why arenโt they asking where are we at here?
โIโm not certain whether Chris Judd has done that or not. Heโs the director of football and I donโt think heโs even been there.โ
Judd defended his position at the club, suggesting his role as a non-executive director is to sit on management and football performance committees, and be a conduit between the boards and the football executives and the coaching staff.
