Gold Coast star Gary Ablett will have to wait to play his 300th game after the Suns withdrew the midfielder from Sunday's clash with St Kilda.
Ablett suffered a calf injury during his side's loss to Carlton last Saturday night, and failed to recover during the week and will not take his spot on Sunday.
“Really disappointing for Gary, his family and the footy club - waiting for his much anticipated 300th game,” Gold Coast general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft told goldcoastfc.com.au.
“Gary hurt his calf in last weekends game, he had been rehabbing it all week.”
“Unfortunately today trying to complete some rehab runs, didn’t get through those at all.
“He’d been working really hard the last few days, we know he’s the ultimate professional, and he did everything he could.”
Kade Kolodjashnij also won't take the field against St Kilda, after being ruled out with concussion.
Josh Schoenfeld and Trent McKenzie have been brought into the 25-man squad for Sunday's game, which will be trimmed to 22 at 5pm on Friday night.
