Geelong hit the ground running in season 2017, with an impressive 42-point win over Fremantle at Domain Stadium on Sunday night.
Several young players enjoyed starring roles in the win, however, it has come at a cost.
Cats' coach Chris Scott revealed on Fox Footy's AFL360 on Monday night that Nakia Cockatoo will miss up to four weeks with a broken thumb, which he sustained during the game.
"Unfortunately, he's hurt his thumb and he's going to need surgery tomorrow,"Scott said.
"He's going to miss probably a few weeks, maybe four."
