Adelaide captain Taylor Walker is in doubt for round one of the 2018 season, after suffering a foot injury at training.

Walker strained his plantar fascia on the training track and will now spend the next two weeks in a moon boot.

The 27-year-old will have a limited training regime over the next two weeks, and is expected to be fit to play in 5-6 weeks.

โ€œTaylor had some soreness in his foot during training last week and after further assessment the strain was revealed,โ€ Adelaide's General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass told afc.com.au.

โ€œFortunately, the injury doesnโ€™t require surgery and he will make a full recovery after a period of rest.

โ€œHe will not take part in AFLX or the JLT Community Series, but is focused on being available for Round One.โ€

Adelaide begin the season at Etihad Stadium against Essendon on Friday, March 23.
