West Coast midfielder Dom Sheed and defender Jackson Nelson have both signed two-year contract extensions with the Eagles that will see them both remain at the club until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Sheed has featured in 11 matches for the Eagles so far this season, while Nelson has played eight times in West Coast colours.

The pair have both established themselves a key members of the Eagles' young brigade, with West Coast general manager of football Criag Vozzo saying the club were thrilled with the pair's commitment.

โ€œWeโ€™re obviously very happy that both Dominic and Jackson have committed to the club for the next few years, having both taken their games to another level this season,โ€ Vozzo told westcoasteagles.com.au.

โ€œTheyโ€™re both important parts of the clubโ€™s future and weโ€™re excited with where they can take their careers.

โ€œDominic is becoming an integral part of our engine room and Jacksonโ€™s toughness and ball use across half-back has been impressive.

โ€œBoth boys have tremendous upside and we look forward to watching them grow in the coming years.โ€

Sheed is averaging career-highs in disposals (22.3), clearances (3.7) and tackles (3.2) in 2017, and told the club's website he was thrilled to commit his future to the Eagles.

โ€œI feel very fortunate to get a two-year deal done and Iโ€™m excited to be here for the next couple of years,โ€ Sheed said.

โ€œItโ€™s great to see the young guys getting games and really standing up and playing their role.โ€

Nelson is also having a career-year with highs in disposals (13.4) and marks (2.9), and is excited to keep playing alongside some of the club's young talent.

โ€œIโ€™m stoked with the result, itโ€™s good that the clubโ€™s put some faith in me, Iโ€™m stoked to be here for another couple of years,โ€ Nelson added.

โ€œItโ€™s been a good start to my career so far, itโ€™s definitely exciting to be with guys like Dom Sheed, Tom Barrass, Tom Cole and Liam Duggan who are all part of the group who can take the club forward.โ€
