Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe has withdrawn from his side's clash with the Cats on Sunday in Geelong.
Fyfe has been struggling with a chest injury over the past few weeks, with senior coach Ross Lyon saying on Wednesday he had suffered some bruising.
Fremantle's general manager of football operations Chris Bond suggested that while Fyfe won't play on Sunday, he should be fit to take the field against the Saints next weekend.
“The medical advice was that Nat be ruled out this week,” Bond said.
“We will monitor Nat throughout next week before making a final decision but we believe he will be right to play in the St Kilda game.”
Fremantle's final 22 will be announced on Friday night at 5pm.
The 25-year-old has played all 12 games for the Dockers so far this season, and is averaging 25.3 disposals a game, and 5.2 clearances.
