St Kilda's young forward Josh Battle will miss at least a fornight after scans revealed a fractured left eye socket on Monday.

Battle felt pain in his eye following Sunday's clash against the Demons and was sent for scans as a precaution.

Unfortunately, the scans revealed two small fractures that will keep the exciting forward out for 2-3 weeks.

General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean spoke on how Battle impressed so quickly after coming into the team and how he will be missed.

โ€œJosh has made a significant impact after earning his opportunity against Sydney in Round 12,โ€ Lethlean told saints.com.au.

โ€œNot only has he been able to hit the scoreboard but has played with great physicality.

โ€œThankfully the injury doesnโ€™t require surgery, but it will mean that he is sidelined for a short period.โ€

Battle has kicked six goals in three games this season, after only playing one game last year.
