Carlton will be without forward Charlie Curnow for the next 3-4 weeks, after he sustained a medial ligament injury in his side's win over Fremantle on Sunday.

Curnow suffered the injury in the opening minutes of Sunday's game, with Director of High-Performance Andrew Russell telling the club's website Curnow should return in the timeframe.

“Charlie’s got a medial ligament knee injury which is what we thought on the day, the MRI confirmed that,” Russell said.

“We think he’ll miss three or four games.”

Blues co-captain Patrick Cripps will face a fitness test later in the week, to prove his availability for his side's clash against Melbourne on Sunday.

“Patrick will be a test this week — he ran today and moved quite well. He’s a chance to play and we’ll see how he holds up under a bit of footy load later in the week,” Russell said.

David Cunningham will also face a test, while Harry McKay will miss another week.
