Collingwood are set to hand youngster Isaac Quaynor his first AFL game in Friday night's clash against Hawthorn at the MCG as the club's first debutant for the season.

Pies coach Nathan Buckley surprised the 19-year old in front of the playing group at training on Wednesday morning.

“What I can declare though, Isaac you’re going to play your first game of AFL footy on Friday,” Buckley said.

A dashing defender, Quaynor has averaged 19.1 disposals and 3.6 tackles in his 10 games in the VFL this season.

The Magpies’ Next Generation Academy graduate was thrilled to finally get his opportunity.

“I’m excited to get an opportunity and play my first game for Collingwood. It came as a bit of a surprise but I’m looking forward to getting out onto the MCG and playing my role for the team,” Quaynor told the club website.

Quaynor bizarrely revealed that a friend recently predicted he would play his first game against the Hawks.

“Funnily enough, my mate had a dream about 10 days ago that I would debut against Hawthorn. It’s pretty crazy how it’s all happened,” Quaynor said.
