Brisbane defender Daniel Rich will take no further part in Saturday's clash against the Saints, after suffering a left ankle injury.

The incident occurred midway through the second quarter, in a marking contest with St Kilda forward Josh Bruce.

Rich seemed to land awkwardly on his ankle and was immediately in trouble, signalling out to trainers for assistance.

Rich was helped from the field by trainers and limped to the bench, before having his ankle strapped.

He was ruled out of the game before half-time.
