North Melbourne defender Majak Daw has been hospitalised following an incident that occurred on the Bolte Bridge in Melbourne's CBD late on Monday night.
The 27-year old was rescued by emergency services after being discovered in Docklands' Yarra River at approximately 11pm.
It is understood that Daw suffered a broken hip during the fall but escaped with no life-threatening issues.
The first Sudenese-born player to play AFL, Daw is coming off a breakout season where he consolidated himself as one of the league's most valuable defenders.
A member from Ambulance Victoria confirmed that Daw was safe and in a stable condition, currently recovering at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
North Melbourne are set to release a statement later today regarding the incident.
Daw reportedly did not train yesterday.
