West Coast forward Liam Ryan is being investigated by police after a domestic violence incident in Kalbarri, 570 kilometers from Perth according to PerthNow's Gabrielle Knowles.
The 22-year-old was handed a 72-hour police order after being called to an incident outside a motel in the area on Sunday morning.
Ryan was not named in a statement by WA Police, however they said they were called to an incident at approximately 4.20am, speaking to a 20-year-old woman.
No official complaint has been made to police at this stage.
A police order is issued when an arrest cannot be made due to a lack of evidence, but police are concerned for the safety and wellbeing of the person in question.
A police order provides temporary but instant protection for a person who is being threatened.
It provides temporary relief to allow the person to attend court to obtain a Restraining Order.
A Police Order can be issued without requirement, consent or complaint from an individual.
