Star Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams will be sidelined for eight weeks with a finger injury, according to Terry Wallace.
“Unfortunately for Magpie fans, Taylor Adams has had an incident where he’s done damage to his finger and it requires a bone graft,” Wallace told SEN Afternoons.
“So it looks like it could be up to eight weeks on the sidelines which is really disappointing news."
Named to the Pies' 2019 leadership group on Wednesday, Adams was primed for a big campaign after reportedly training the house down over the pre-season.
In positive news for the club on the injury front, exciting forward Jordan De Goey made a shock return to the training track on Thursday after suffering a mid-foot sprain 13 days ago.
This places De Goey in good stead for round one after reportedly moving freely and without discomfort in his return to training.
Collingwood open their JLT campaign against the Dockers in WA on Monday.
