North Melbourne forward Jarrad Waite will miss the Roos' clash with the Western Bulldogs on Saturday, after sustaining a calf injury at training.

It's the same calf that he injured in the warm-up against Brisbane in round 11, before also sitting out the Roos' round 12 defeat to Geelong.

"He reported some pain again to the medical team during a session this week," North Melbourne's GM football Cameron Joyce told nmfc.com.au.

"We'd given him a decent break, including the bye weekend, but he needs more time to recover and then continue to strengthen the area of concern.

"Given his age and injury history, it's important that we adopt a conservative approach and ensure that we have him back to full fitness and available to play."

The 35-year-old has played nine games this season, and has kicked 22 goals, while also averaging 16.1 disposals and 5.3 marks per game.

Joyce said Waite would now be listed as "TBC" on the club's injury list, until they can determine the severity of the injury and how long he'll need to recover.
