Brisbane defender Jack Frost will miss the beginning of the home and away season, after being hit with a one-game ban for his sling tackle on Gold Coast's Brandon Matera.
Matera's head was slammed into the turf by Frost, with Suns' players quick to remonstrate with Frost.

The incident was judged to be careless with medium impact to the head.
He faces a two week ban if he challenges the decision and is unsuccessful.

Hawthorn vice-captain Liam Sheils has escaped suspension, instead fined $1,000ย for a high hit on Geelong's Darcy Lang, with the incident graded as careless and low impact to the head.

Hawks' teammate Kade Stewart has also been slapped with a $1,000 fine for engaging in rough conduct on Geelong's Andrew Mackie.
West Coast's Will Schofield can also accept a $1,000 fine for an off-the-ball hit on Giant, Nathan Wilson, while North's Jarrad Waite has been fined $1,000 for kneeing Harrison Marsh.

Meanwhile, in the AFLW,ย Greater Western Sydney's Jacinda Barclay was suspended for one match, while Demon Laura Duryea and Crow Tayla Thorn have been offered reprimands.
