Las Vegas rock band The Killers are set to headline the entertainment at this year's AFL grand final.

Foxfooty.com.au reported the news on Thursday, and believe that although the league refused to confirm the news when contacted by the website, music industry sources have confirmed the band will play on the biggest stage in the AFL.

It is also believed it will be a one-off performance from The Killers, and they will not perform any other shows in Australia.

The American band will release its fifth studio album just a fortnight before performing at the grand final, and are scheduled to release their new single 'The Man' on June 15.

It'll be the first time The Killers have returned to Australia since their performance at Big Day Out in 2013.
