Brisbane midfielder Tom Rockliff is set to join Port Adelaide in the upcoming free agency period, according to FoxSports.

Rockliff has knocked back significant interest from Carlton and rejected a contract renewal from the Lions, to accept a deal to play with the Power in 2018 and beyond.

The former Lions' skipper has reportedly informed Carlton of his decision to join Port and Brisbane is not expected to match the Power's offer, leaving Rockliff free to sign on the dotted line at Alberton.

After captaining the side for two years, Rockliff was stood down as skipper at the end of last season and replaced by Dayne Beams. He was also put on the trade table last season, but failed to attract significant interest, before opting to explore his options this season.

Brisbane is expected to receive either a late first round pick or an early second round selection in exchange for losing Rockliff to free agency. He averaged 24 disposals, six tackles and kicked 16 goals in 20 games this season.

The 27-year-old has played a total of 154 games for the Lions since being recruited with pick No.5 in the 2009 Pre-Season Draft.
