St Kilda have made their final list change ahead of next month's AFL Draft, with rookie listed player Nick O'Kearney told he would not receive a playing contract for next season.
After joining the club in the 2015 Rookie Draft with the fifth pick, O'Kearney failed to make a senior appearance for the Saints, despite impressive performances for Sandringham.
With the final date of the initial list lodgement period on Monday, St Kilda needed to finalise their list, and O'Kearney's departure means the club are now ready to enter next month's draft.
“Nick’s attitude has been exemplary in his time at the Saints,” St Kilda coach Alan Richardson told saints.com.au.
“He’s worked incredibly hard on his game and was very consistent for Sandringham.
“Unfortunately he was unable to force his way into the midfield group at AFL level.
“Nick is a great young man and we wish him all the best for the future.”
St Kilda will enter the November 24 AFL Draft with four selections (picks 7, 8, 34, and 45), headlined by two in the first round.
