Richmond pair Shane Edwards and Ben Griffiths have both been ruled out of the Tigers' clash with West Coast at the MCG on Saturday.

Edwards will be sidelined due to a hip injury, while Griffiths will watch from the stands after suffering a concussion.

โ€œLate in the fourth quarter, he had an incident close to goal and hurt his hip. Itโ€™s come back that heโ€™s actually done a little bit of damage. So heโ€™s going to miss a little bit of time... a couple of weeks at this stage,โ€ Richmondย Physical Performance Manager, Peter Burge, toldย richmondfc.com.au.

โ€œHeโ€™ll start a rehab program later this week.

โ€œWe look forward to getting Shane back at some point, but itโ€™s not going to be in the next two weeks.โ€

โ€œโ€™Griffoโ€™ has had a couple of concussions in the past. Even though it is a longer break this week (nine days), the โ€˜docโ€™ has already made the call that he wonโ€™t play.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got to give him the right time to recover and then assess where we go from here...โ€

Tigers star Dustin Martin will undergo a fitness test later in the week to determine whether or not he'll face the Eagles after injuring his cheekbone against the Magpies.

โ€œHe copped a whack in the side of his cheekbone and we got a scan and itโ€™s come back with a small crack,โ€ Burge said.

โ€œHe did play three quarters of the game with it and did well. So weโ€™ll assess him during the week.

โ€œI would be hopeful that heโ€™d be out there on the weekend, but thatโ€™ll be a medical call on Dustin.โ€
