Richmond pair Shane Edwards and Ben Griffiths have both been ruled out of the Tigers' clash with West Coast at the MCG on Saturday.

Edwards will be sidelined due to a hip injury, while Griffiths will watch from the stands after suffering a concussion.

“Late in the fourth quarter, he had an incident close to goal and hurt his hip. It’s come back that he’s actually done a little bit of damage. So he’s going to miss a little bit of time... a couple of weeks at this stage,” Richmond Physical Performance Manager, Peter Burge, told richmondfc.com.au.

“He’ll start a rehab program later this week.

“We look forward to getting Shane back at some point, but it’s not going to be in the next two weeks.”

“’Griffo’ has had a couple of concussions in the past. Even though it is a longer break this week (nine days), the ‘doc’ has already made the call that he won’t play.

“We’ve got to give him the right time to recover and then assess where we go from here...”

Tigers star Dustin Martin will undergo a fitness test later in the week to determine whether or not he'll face the Eagles after injuring his cheekbone against the Magpies.

“He copped a whack in the side of his cheekbone and we got a scan and it’s come back with a small crack,” Burge said.

“He did play three quarters of the game with it and did well. So we’ll assess him during the week.

“I would be hopeful that he’d be out there on the weekend, but that’ll be a medical call on Dustin.”
