A list of 18 players has been revealed as being promoted within their club from the rookie contingent to the primary list ahead of the 2025 AFL Draft.

It was known that Port Adelaide elevated young trio Josh Lai, Harrison Ramm and Tom Cochrane, as did Gold Coast for Sam Clohesy.

The much-improved Richmond forward Seth Campbell was also rewarded for his breakout season with a primary list spot, as were Western Bulldogs duo James O'Donnell and Oskar Baker.

AFL Media's Cal Twomey has revealed that Hudson O'Keeffe (Carlton), Jaxon Prior (Essendon), Vigo Visentini (Essendon), Josh Draper (Fremantle), Jeremy Sharp (Fremantle), James Blanck (Hawthorn), Anthony Caminiti (St Kilda) and Tyrell Dewar (West Coast) were also privy to promotions ahead of the 2026 season.

Clubs have the capacity to make list changes to suit their plans heading into the National Draft, which dictates that any player taken will occupy a spot on the primary list.

Before the first AFL list lodgement on October 31st, 10 players were delisted from their clubs, with the view that they would be redrafted as rookies.

More and more each year, clubs utilise the loophole to list some of their older players, but free up space in order to recognise those deserving of a primary list spot.

A secondary list lodgement following the 2025 Rookie Draft on Friday, November 21, will also provide clubs more time to elevate players to the senior contingent, pending they have spots available.
