Former Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes has named his current top five AFL players.

The Power games record expanded on his declaration earlier this week that Giants star Toby Greene is a top five player in the game, who has thrived since standing is as skipper for injured incumbent Stephen Coniglio.

The star forward is fresh off signing a two-year extension with the club, making him a Giant for life.

โ€œYou sort of casually speak about it and I said I reckon heโ€™s a top-five player in the game. It was put on social media and everyone loses their mind,โ€ Cornes said on SENโ€™s The Captainโ€™s Run.

โ€œThey agree or disagree, thatโ€™s the way it works. I think he genuinely is a top-five player. Iโ€™m not walking away from those comments."

Cornes went on to name his top five players as it stands, giving an honourable mention to Melbourne's Max Gawn.

3. Christian Petracca

2021 season averages: 29 disposals, 1.1 goals, 6 clearances

Coming in at No. 3 is star Demon Christian Petracca, fresh off signing a mega seven-year contract extension with Melbourne this week estimated to be worth around $1 million per season.

Heck, give it another couple of years and Petracca could be topping this list.

Cornes said: โ€œPeople are saying I didnโ€™t want to give Petracca a seven-year deal. No, I still take nothing away from his football. I think heโ€™s been unbelievable."
