Former Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes has revealed his updated top eight on the eve of the AFL's restart on SEN SA Breakfast.
Given it has been three months since Round 1, Cornes has made changes from his initial predictions in what will be a vastly altered campaign.
He believes the Giants will finish on top of the ladder and win their maiden premiership.
“I think the Giants win it this year," Cornes told SEN SA Breakfast.
"They are just so powerful and have so much talent through the midfield. If they get their list fit they are ready to go.”
Cornes predicts Collingwood will finish second on the ladder and be this season's runner-up after originally tipping them to finish sixth.
It would mark the Magpies' second grand final loss in three years, also falling to the Giants in the preliminary final last year.
“They’ll be the runners-up again this year.”
Rounding out Cornes' top four is West Coast and Richmond, with the Eagles being his original pick for the flag.
“Hurt a little bit by their fixture and having to join the hub but they are just ready to go. They are primed the Eagles.”
On Richmond: “Don’t think they can win it again. Back-to-back flags are so hard to do, but they’ll be in the mix.”
Cornes has Brisbane, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs closing out his top eight.
