North Melbourne has announced the appointment of a new development coach ahead of next season.
Former AFL midfielder Adam Marcon will join the Kangaroos as their newest development coach, following a stint in Richmond's AFLW coaching ranks.
The ex-Williamstown captain is also a former Tiger, having donned yellow and black for a single season in 2016 before he was delisted. He won the VFL side's best and fairest award that year.
Marcon also senior coached Aberfeldie in the Essendon District Football League premier division for a pair of seasons.
North Melbourne's new hire will report to the club's head of development, Michael Barlow, who himself was recently appointed to that position.
Marcon isn't representative of the Roos' only Richmond coaching poach this off-season; as ex-Tigers assistant Xavier Clarke was appointed by North to undertake a similar deputy role under Alastair Clarkson next season.
North Melbourne football boss Todd Viney expressed his excitement at his club's acquisition of Marcon.
"We are pleased to welcome Adam to Arden Street," Viney said as part of a Friday afternoon club statement.
"Adam has settled well into coaching since his retirement from VFL in 2021, most recently as an assistant coach in Richmond's AFLW program, and he is also a qualified teacher.
"His background in education will be a great asset to us with our young crop of players and incoming draftees."
The first to fourth-year Kangaroos are scheduled to return to Arden Street for pre-season training on Monday, November 13.
