A North Melbourne player is understood to have tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the latest positive case to impact the off-season.

Hawthorn youngster Finn Maginness was revealed as a positive case last week, becoming the second player following ex-Bomber Connor McKenna to have recorded a positive result since the virus' impact.

The Blues, Bulldogs and Tigers' AFLW sides have also been impacted by positive results, having their pre-season training brought to a halt as staff were required to undergo testing.

According toย The Herald Sun,ย the Kangaroos are facing "limited exposure" as players are yet to return to training at Arden Street, meaning an internal outbreak is unlikely.

North Melbourne players are set to begin their preparations for 2022 in the coming weeks however, with all players required to be vaccinated ahead of their return.

Kangaroos skipper Jack Ziebell recently acknowledged the club's strong vaccine numbers ahead of pre-season, however a 100% vaccine rate is yet to be confirmed.

"As far as I know it will all be sorted (at North Melbourne), leading into when everyone comes back. I havenโ€™t seen too many of the boys in off season, there are quite a few interstate but from what I can tell we should be all sweet there," Ziebell told News Corp.

Among Victorian clubs, Collingwood, Essendon,ย Richmond, Melbourne,ย Hawthornย and theย Western Bulldogs are understood to have had all of their playing group receive at least one jab.

Geelong and North Melbourne are believed to be showing strong numbers in their player vaccination rate, while Carlton and St Kilda the full vaccination status of their playing lists.
