Hawthorn have officially signed Karl Amon as a free agent from Port Adelaide.
Amon joins the Hawks in a return to his home state on a four-year deal after exercising his rights as an unrestricted free agent.
The move will see Amon end his eight-year spell with the Power, which saw the flashy wingman notch up 124 games for the South Australian side.
“We are thrilled to officially welcome Karl to Hawthorn,” Hawks list boss Rob McKenzie said.
“It's pleasing to hear Karl indicate his decision to commit to the club was based around the positive direction of the organisation and the exciting brand of football being developed.
“He is an incredibly gifted athlete and can be damaging by foot.
“With more than 100 games under his belt, we believe his skillset and experience will complement our young and developing list.”
Port Adelaide have received Pick 27 as compensation for Amon.
The Power had initially hoped for a first-round selection and will now add the incoming pick to their current hand of 8, 53, 56 and 80.
The Power are in a position to bolster their squad despite the loss of Amon, with Richmond midfielder Jack Graham and West Coast forward Junior Rioli in the mix to land at Alberton.
