Young defender Lachlan Bramble has inked a two-year extension at Hawthorn after an impressing finish to the season.
The 23-year-old will now remain at the club until at least 2023 after putting pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal.
Bramble had to wait until Round 14 to make his AFL debut but quickly settled into the line-up. The youngster went on to play the last 10 games of the season, averaging 18.3 disposals and 2.1 bounces a game.
Speaking to Hawthornfc.com.au, General Manager of Football Rob McCartney was excited with the re-signing.
“Lachy’s is a really good story of resilience and determination,” McCartney said.
“He’d been overlooked in a number of drafts prior to this year, but his work across the pre-season with Box Hill really demanded our attention and we were compelled to pick him up in the pre-season draft.
“He really earned his chance at senior footy in the middle stages of the year and then went from strength to strength in the back half and showed our fans a really exciting, skilful brand of footy.
“We’re really pleased to be able to reward him with another two years.”
Recruited out of the VFL via the pre-season supplemental selection period. Bramble has taken to the level quite well this season.
