Brisbane star Lachie Neale and Sydney midfielder Errol Gulden are closing in on the top five of the 2024 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leaderboard following strong performances in Round 18.
Neale was one of three players to be viewed as the best player afield by both coaches in their respective matches, with all three Sunday games seeing a 10-vote performance recognised.
Gold Coast's Noah Anderson, who now sits in ninth, and GWS captain Toby Greene join Neale in earning perfect outings.
Neale's 10 votes sees him move to equal sixth to be level with Gulden on 71 votes for the season, with the duo one vote shy of the fifth-placed Caleb Serong and a further two off Marcus Bontempelli.
Patrick Cripps' six votes has him four ahead of Bontempelli on 78, while Nick Daicos failed to poll against Geelong and take advantage of leader Isaac Heeney's absence.
