The Lions are expecting star Lachie Neale to respond against the Eagles this weekend after a quiet performance in last week's win over Sydney.
Neale was kept to 10 disposals in Round 1, his smallest tally in his time with the Lions as Swans tagger James Jordon got the better of the two-time Brownlow Medal winner.
West Coast have stated they'll have "plans in place" to quell Neale, with coach Andrew McQualter stating this week that Jordon did a "terrific job", however the first-year coach is mindful of Brisbane's other gun onballers.
Speaking to media on Saturday, Lions coach Chris Fagan said he expects Neale to respond in style whether he receives personal attention or not by the Eagles' engine room ensemble.
"Across this competition, some teams choose to tag and some teams don't. You just take what you get each week,"
"It's different for different teams. Whatever they choose to do... we'll be ready for both.
"[Neale] is a champion player. He gets tagged most weeks. Every time a tagger does a good job on Lachie Neale that becomes a topic of conversation.
"You all need to realise most weeks he gets tagged, and most weeks he plays well. He's used to it."
The Lions have made a trio of changes for their meeting with the Eagles, needing to replace injured pair Brandon Starcevich (concussion) and Kai Lohmann (ankle) while Darcy Fort has been omitted.
Bruce Reville returns to Fagan's side in place of Starcevich, while Will McLachlan and Sam Day have been named for their first games in Lions colours.
Fagan credited McLachlan since his arrival in Queensland almost 12 months ago, while Day hasn't put a foot wrong since crossing from Gold Coast over the off-season.
Day was due to play in last week's win over the Swans but was made unavailable due to the passing of his father, with Fagan keen to see the veteran forward take his place as a potential replacement for the retired Joe Daniher.
"He hasn't missed a beat in terms of training," Fagan said of the 32-year-old.
"He was unfortunate with his Dad passing away, as he would've been in the team. He's fitted in really well, is a really good team player and is a hard man to outmark. If he doesn't mark it himself he'll bring it to ground for our small players.
"We're looking forward to his contribution and what he can bring to the team. He's different to 'Joey' but he's a different sort of player. He'll help us."
Brisbane host West Coast at the Gabba on Sunday at 1:10pm (AEDT) as they look to make it two wins in as many games.
