Brisbane Lions captain and reigning Club champion Dayne Zorko has undergone a minor procedure on his ankle during the week.
Zorko had been plagued with a troublesome Achilles so far this pre-season, and has only been able to participate in one of the club's match simulation training sessions.
The minor surgery means Zorko will be ruled out of Brisbane's pre-season matches against Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs.

The Lions skipper is slated to return to training next week, and is expected to be fully fit and available for the club's Round 1 match against Port Adelaide at the Gabba on March 19.
Zorko is coming off a terrific 2021 season where he averaged 24 disposals and six tackles per game, helping lead the Lions to a top-four berth.
The Lions have enjoyed a strong bill of health this pre-season, with forward pair Cam Rayner and Eric Hipwood returning from ACL injuries this season.
The looming list issue at Brisbane is with midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen, who has been moved to the inactive list after opting not to receive a vaccine.
