The 2024 Mid-Season Draft has seen 19 players picked up by AFL clubs ahead of the second half of the current season.

Up to 23 selections were up for grabs, with Adelaide, Brisbane and Richmond all passing after making earlier selections on the night.

North Melbourne used Pick 1 on Tasmanian utility Geordie Payne, with the Roos making two selections at the Mid-Season Draft.

Former Hawthorn midfield-forward Ned Long and ex-Port Adelaide tall Brynn Teakle each earned AFL lifelines on Wednesday night, joining Collingwood and North Melbourne respectively.

The Mid-Season Draft has become an avenue for clubs to fill list spots midway through campaigns, with sides either looking to strengthen their finals pushes or continue to add to their rebuilding squads.

The likes of Jai Newcombe (Hawthorn), Sam Durham (Essendon), John Noble (Collingwood) and Marlion Pickett (Richmond) have been selected at Mid-Season Drafts after being overlooked in the past.
