Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe won't be making his return to Justin Longmuir's side for their Round 2 clash with St Kilda on Sunday, while ruckman Sean Darcy is no certainty to play either.

The pair did not feature in the Dockers' season opener, with Longmuir's side clinching a thrilling one-point win over Adelaide in their absence.

They may face tougher competition against the Saints however, with Brett Ratten's side out for redemption following their disappointing defeat at the hands of Collingwood in Round 1.

Fyfe, who has overcome an ongoing shoulder issue from the pre-season, has recently been battling with a back complaint, with the Dockers star set to undergo further scans on what has been a peculiar setback.

While the injury has been listed as "minor", Longmuir revealed to media on Thursday that the two-time Brownlow Medal winner won't feature at Optus Stadium this weekend.

Darcy is yet to be ruled out of Longmuir's 22 to face the Saints, however will be tested at training in the days leading into Round 2.

The Dockers ruckman has been hampered by a calf complaint early into his sixth season in purple, with a final call yet to be made on his selection.

Defender Nathan Wilson will also be closely monitored ahead of Thursday's selection, with the ex-Giant looking to overcome a shoulder injury.

โ€œSean is going really well. He had the calf awareness and heโ€™s put in a lot of work over the weekend,โ€ Dockers football boss Peter Bell said of Darcy earlier this week.

โ€œWe think that heโ€™ll be available for main training and also available for selection.
