Demons recruit Harley Bennell will be available to make his debut for the club in round two, his agent Colin Young confirmed.
Bennell has suffered ongoing calf issues over his career which saw his time at Fremantle come to an abrupt end before it even started, as well as some early setbacks at his time with the Demons.
But with the season postponed because of coronavirus crisis, Bennell has been able to get his body right and looks set to revive his career.
“I spoke to Harley last week and I’ll probably give him a call over the weekend, but the players that have had long-term injuries they’re the ones that are going to benefit,” Young told SEN.
“I’ve got Nathan Wilson from Fremantle who will probably be ready for the next game and we’ve got Harley who we think will be ready for Round 2 which will be great for the Melbourne supporters and himself and the family.
“Quite a few other players that are coming back from injury. Zac Fisher went down Round 1 and he should be ready go so some players have benefited from this time away.”
Bennell's last AFL game in round 23, 2017, which was just one of his two games for the Dockers.
