Former St Kilda and Fremantle coach Ross Lyon has all but confirmed he isn't interested in the vacant senior coaching role at the GWS Giants.
Lyon was among several names first linked to the position following Leon Cameron's resignation on Thursday, with fellow ex-coaches Alastair Clarkson and Nathan Buckley also among those tied to the conversations.
Clarkson has flagged he is open to returning to the AFL coaching landscape, while Buckley has put a line through coaching for next season at the very least.
Lyon was also believed to be in consideration for vacancies at Collingwood and Carlton in the off-season before turning his back on both approaches and a third coaching stint in the league.

When asked about his chances of potentially contending for the job and joining the coaching 'merry-go-round', Lyon stated he's won't be "taking a ticket up on this ride".
"Nah I went on this Merry-Go-Round last year, wasn't really a joyful ride," Lyon said on Triple M.
"I don't think I'll be taking a ticket up on this ride.
"You've gotta be all in. I'm certainly not all in."
Lyon recorded a total of 172 wins from 305 games in charge of the Saints and Dockers, where he amassed three grand final finishes.
He revealed in August last year of his decision to turn down the position as successor to Buckley at the Magpies, stating he "wouldn’t entertain that for a variety of reasons".
While initially open to the Blues role, Lyon opted out of the running after deciding not to go through a process with the club.
Clarkson firms as the standout option for the Giants to chase, while assistant Mark McVeigh and consultant James Hird may also be of interest.
Cameron will coach his final match as the Giants' coach on Sunday against Carlton at GIANTS Stadium, with McVeigh set to take on caretaker duties following the game.
