Three-time All-Australian Emily Bates will make her much-anticipated debut for the Hawks after joining them from the Brisbane Lions. Bates will bring a ton of experience and skill and is a former Premiership player and Best and Fairest winner (2022). Greta Bodey, Mattea Breed and Kristy Stratton will all make their club debut, while Ainsile Kemp and Lucy Wales are left out of the team.

Essendon Bombers

Georgia Gee will play her 50th AFLW game on the weekend for the Essendon Bombers and will be accompanied by a host of new faces. Brooke Brown, Georgia Clarke, Kodi Jacques, Georgia Nanscawen, and Brooke Walker are the five new players who will make their debut for the club. However, the Bombers will have to compete without Alex Morcon and Mia Van Dyk due to an ankle and hip injury, respectively.
