Essendon great Matthew Lloyd has named the top five forwards in his lifetime.

Speaking onย AFL.com.au,ย Lloyd believes these fowards that will go down as the best to play the game that he's seen.

Lloyd counted down from 5-1...

2. Jason Dunstall

Lloyd said: "Jason was just such a graceful player. I think Jason's hands on the lead was just about the best I've seen."

"Jason wasn't entitled to take some marks. He'd go hard to lead, the ball wasn't quite right, he'd stop, smash back on his player and then go back with the ball again and that was something that Jason I reckon was before his time with his ability to do that."

"If the ball was fading, he had like a slips catch. Jason would dive out to his side and was another thing I hadn't seen too many players do. And then if the kicks also weren't perfect, his ability to snap balls on his left or his right foot was sensational."

"Apart from probably taking the big speccy, Jason could do it all."
