Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd has revealed the best five kicks inside 50 he's seen.

One of the hardest kicks to pull off, the entry pass inside the arc is as important as its ever been with teams now flooding their defensive 50.

Speaking on AFL.com.au, Lloyd explained that the kick inside 50 is the toughest to execute in football.

"Some players make you better, and tell you where to lead, and others you just drop your head hoping for the best when they have the football. There is a real art to it, you've got to weight the ball, you've got to place it," he said.

Lloyd counted down from 5-1...

2. Jason Akermanis

Lloyd said: "He could be rated as the best two sided player that we've seen. Whether it's on his left or right foot, Alastair Lynch, Jonathan Brown and Daniel Bradshaw's eyes would've lit up. It was just the amount of different kicks that Jason could execute inside 50 is what made him one of the best kicks the game has ever seen."
