Matthew Lloyd is back with another top seven and this one's exciting.

After Cyril's shock announcement last week, Lloyd decided to take a look at the best small forwards in the last 20 years.

It's hard to know what constitutes as a small forward, but Lloyd left out some big names including Stevie Johnson, Robbie Gray and Brad Johnson because they're more "inbetweeners".

Here's Lloydy's top 7:

7. Michael Walters (FRE)

"I believe he will be there by the end". Only 27 years of age, Walters has plenty more years to build on what has already been a successful career exciting all fans of AFL football.

6. Phil Matera (WCE)

"389 goals as a small forward, he was brilliant."

5. Luke Breust (HAW)

"The man who kicked 6 on the weekend... He's kicked over 30 goals in every season."

4. Jeff Farmer (MEL FRE)

"The Wizard... 483 goals he kicked in his career. He was magnificent." Gerard Healy went on to add "and a million smiles that he put on faces."

3. Cyril Rioli (HAW)

The reason as to why the list was created in the first place. "Four flags, unbelievable finals player and pressure player."

2. Steven Milne (STK)

"2008, 60 goals. 2009, 46 goals. 2010, 57 goals. 2011 56 goals. 2012, 56 [goals]... 574 goals."

1. Eddie Betts (CARL, ADE)

"I've got Eddie Betts as the best small forward I've seen in the last 20 years... 75 goals in 2016, then backed it up with 55 last year."
