Sydney veteran Jarrad McVeigh has hit out at Hawthorn's Will Langford, and said the kiss Langford planted on the Swan was "disrespectful".

The pair had a running battle throughout the night, with McVeigh giving away a free kick in the second quarter after pushing Langford in the face following his first of two kisses.

Langford's lips found the Sydney veteran again in the fourth term, after McVeigh goaled and remonstrated with the Hawk.

McVeigh didn't take too kindly to Langford's actions, and told Triple M radio after the game he deemed the gesture to be disrespectful.

"He did it beforehand as well, earlier on, and I probably reacted too much and gave away a free kick," McVeigh told Triple M post-match.ย

"I'm not going to stand there and take that.ย

"I thought it was pretty disrespectful. But that's the way it is."

On the other hand, Langford didn't believe his actions overstepped the mark, and told Channel 7's Brian Taylor in the rooms post match it was all just a bit of fun.

"I'm always just talking to opposition players and try and keep it nice and lighthearted and have a bit of fun out there," Langford said.

Sydney young gun Callum Mills joined in on the discussion on Saturday morning, and told Fox Sports News' Gameday Liveย a kiss is certainly something he wouldn't appreciate either.

โ€œI haven seen the incident, but I donโ€™t know if Iโ€™d be liking anyone kissing me,โ€ Mills said.

โ€œThatโ€™s what Jarrad thought and heโ€™s completely right to have his own opinions on that.โ€
