Melbourne has informed Fraser Rosman that he will not be offered a new contract for the 2023 season, while Mitch Brown has announced his retirement.
Brown played 79 games at senior level across three clubs since being drafted by Geelong in 2008. The 32-year-old managed just three games for the Demons this season, but featured in Casey's VFL premiership win over the weekend.
Having spent 13 seasons in the game, Brown's longevity and persistence was credited by Melbourne's list manager Tim Lamb.
“To have been on an AFL list for 13 seasons is a fantastic achievement and something Mitch should be very proud of,” Lamb said to Melbourne Media.
“Mitch has been able to get every ounce out of himself and his longevity in the system is testament to his character.
“We wish Mitch all the best for the future and thank him for his contribution to the club.”
Rosman was drafted with pick 34 in the 2020 national draft but didn't feature at senior level for the Demons across his two years on the list, but featured regularly for Casey at VFL level.
“These decisions are obviously difficult given the competition for spots on our list,” Lamb said.
“On behalf of everyone at the Club, we would like to thank Fraser for his hard-work and commitment during his time with us.”
