Melbourne have made a change to their squad for Sunday's meeting with St Kilda, with fringe forward Tom Fullarton pulled from the extended side.

The club has not revealed the reasoning for Fullarton's omission from their list of emergencies, however, have named veteran Ben Brown in his place.

Brown joins fellow Round 10 showings Jack Billings and Blake Howes in being on standby for Sunday's side that will face the Saints.

All three players were omitted from Simon Goodwin's team that fell to West Coast last week as the Demons coach decided on four changes for Round 11.

Defender Jake Lever was the fourth out due to injury, with Melbourne bringing back quartet Jacob van Rooyen, Lachie Hunter, Tom Langdon and Adam Tomlinson for this week's game at the MCG.

Langdon returns after missing last week's trip west due to his sister's European wedding, while Tomlinson and van Rooyen look set to replace Lever and Brown respectively.

Hunter comes in for his first game of 2024 following a calf injury that hampered his start to the season, with the wingman a fitting replacement for Billings.

The Demons and Saints will further finalise their squads an hour out from Sunday's 3:20pm (AEST) bounce on Sunday.
