Melbourne wingman Ed Langdon is the latest Demon to recommit to the red and blue, signing a new four-year deal to be locked away until the end of the 2028 season.
Langdon was due to see his first contract with the club reach its expiry this year, with the former Docker and the Demons reaching an agreement this week to extend their partnership.
The premiership midfielder has been a staple in Simon Goodwin's side since crossing from Fremantle at the end of the 2019 season, playing 108 games with the Demons in his five seasons back in Victoria.
His new deal will take him through to nine seasons with Melbourne and a total of 14 in the AFL, having been drafted in 2014 to the Dockers.
"Ed has shown in his time with us that he is one of the most consistent, reliable players in the competition. He has a unique skill set and is a crucial cog in our team," Melbourne list manager Tim Lamb said in a club statement.
"He always does what's asked of him and is a selfless teammate who understands his role. We also love what he brings to the club as a person, he is a totally unique individual who balances life outside of football with his dedication to the club.
"We're thrilled to see him commit long-term to the journey we are on, and we're excited to see how he can continue to grow and develop as a leader in our program."
Langdon has played all but one game this season, with six of his last seven matches seeing him play every minute of action as the Demons press for a finals placing in 2024.
The 28-year-old's re-signing adds to a busy retention window for Melbourne, who have secured new deals for Jed Adams (2026), Jake Bowey (2026), Bailey Laurie (2026), Harrison Petty (2027), Koltyn Tholstrup (2028), Jacob Van Rooyen (2029) and Caleb Windsor (2028) this year already.
Other senior Demons in Ben Brown, Tom McDonald, Adam Tomlinson and Jake Melksham, among others, are yet to re-sign for the 2025 season.
