The Melbourne Demons have unveiled an artist's impression of their proposed new home base at Caulfield Racecourse Reserve, marking an exciting step forward in the club's long-term facility plans.

Following a successful feasibility study, the club is now progressing to the Business Case Phase, a milestone in the journey toward building a state-of-the-art training and administrative facility.

The proposed site, located within Melbourne's heartland in the Glen Eira area, will feature two football ovals and modern amenities designed to benefit both the club and the local community.

The project aligns with the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust's broader vision of enhancing community sporting and recreational resources.

Melbourne CEO Gary Pert has emphasised that the support from local community organisations, sporting clubs, and schools highlights the project's potential to positively transform the area, which is known for its limited open space.

While no matches will be held at the new site, it will serve as the daily training and administrative hub for both the men's and women's AFL teams.

The MCG will of course remain Melbourne's arena and spiritual home away from home.

However, this new facility will unite the club under one roof for the first time in its history, as the Demons currently operate from multiple locations across the city.

The next stage of the process will involve developing a funding model and securing State Government approval, with an outcome expected by mid-2025.

If successful, the new home base will bring the Melbourne Football Club closer to its supporters while providing significant benefits to the Glen Eira community.
