Pick three of the recent AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft, Jack Hutchinson has torn up his opening appearance for West Coast's WAFL side, booting half of his team's goals in a hard-fought two-point win over Perth.

Five goals to Hutchinson were pivotal in the win, and got his team back in the contest late in the second. After nailing his first mid-way through the opening term, his next two came in quick succession late in the second to cut Perth's lead under a goal.

His fourth gave West Coast the lead in the final term, before the fifth came in time-on to give his side the lead once again.

While the former Collingwood VFL star stole the show with this game-winning performance, another former mid-season draft pick in Jai Culley was close to best on ground with 30 disposals, 12 inside 50s, seven tackles and a match-sealing goal for himself, potentially opening a spot for himself back in the senior side.

Off-season pick-up from Hawthorn Tyler Brockman was another crucial cogg in the victory, collecting 18 damaging disposals including five inside 50s and a major.

Following West Coast's 14-point loss to St Kilda, which saw the Saints run over the Eagles in the last quarter, Simpson will be faced with some healthy selection headaches moving forward as he looks to bolster his side's fourth quarter legs with some exciting potential inclusions such as Hutchinson, Culley and Brockman.

Fans can expect the recent mid-year pickup to earn a gig sooner rather than later, even with newfound goal-kicking star Jake Waterman set to return next week.
