Carlton forward Jack Silvagni has been fined $1,500 by the AFL after he tripped Adelaide Crows defender Wayne Milera on Thursday night.
The incident, which happened during the fourth quarter of the Blues' loss to the Crows at Adelaide Oval, prompted the adjudicating umpire to pay a free kick against Silvagni.
The Blues forward attempted to bring Milera down in the goal square with a tackle, before eventually resorting to trip the defender.
The incident is Silvagni's first offence and he has not been suspended for the act.
There were no other charges laid from the Adelaide-Carlton game, as the Crows ran out 56-point winners to kick off the inaugural Gather Round.
