"He's coming to stir the pot".

Mitch Robinson's next football move has been confirmed, with the Laverton Magpies Football Netball Club announcing the news ahead of the 2026 season.

Robinson forged a successful AFL career over 14 years, playing for Carlton and then Brisbane. He featured 247 times at senior level, kicking 129 goals, and was also a Lions best-and-fairest winner.

Since his retirement at the end of 2022, the 36-year-old has held a prominent social media presence, mainly spending time in the esports realm as a gamer.

In 2025, Robinson played one-off games all over the country, spending time in Tasmania, Broken Hill, Mid Gippsland, Darein and South Augusta.

It's a massive boost for the Magpies, who won four games in the WFNL (Western Football Netball League) last season.

"Hold onto your guernseys, Magpies fans," the social media statement said.

"Just because we've been quiet this off-season doesn't mean the brew's cooled. In fact… the kettle's ready and the lid's about to blow off.

"We're absolutely pumped to announce that in 2026, the Mitch Robinson — ex-Carlton Football Club & ex-Brisbane Lions workhorse — will be pulling on the black & white of the Laverton Magpies!!

"Why this is massive: over his 14-season AFL career, Mitch played 247 games, kicked 129 goals, and built a reputation as one of the toughest midfielders in the comp — fearless, hard at the footy and always giving 100%.

"Get ready — Robbo's not coming in for a coffee. He's coming to stir the pot."
