The Western Bulldogs have reportedly become the latest club to look into homesick Brisbane forward, Josh Schache, according to AFL.com.au.

Schache signed a two-year contract extension in the middle of this season, however, the Lions are open to the possibility of trading the young key forward given his preference to return home to Victoria.

Meanwhile, The Herald Sun reports Carlton is also considering a play for the former No.2 draft pick.

Schache was hot property mid-year, with Richmond the most interested party. However, interest has cooled on him during the trade period, with few clubs inquiring.

The 20-year-old played 17 games in his first season and a further 10 this year, kicking 25 goals across his first two seasons in the league.

Brisbane's general manager of football, David Noble told AFL Trad Radio on Tuesday morning, things are heating up for Schache.

"Josh went away, came back from holidays, and we decided if it worked for both parties we'd entertain it," Noble said.

"There's clubs dipping their toes in the water, something might happen today."
