Brisbane have entered the race for out-of-contract Essendon star Joe Daniher, reports The Age's Sam McClure.
However, the Lions are keen to see him play this season before formally deciding to pursue him in the off-season.
The 26-year old is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, meaning the Bombers have the right to match any offer he receives.
Daniher hasn’t played since Round 9 last year after being hampered by ongoing groin issues.
The Bombers remain confident that he will play senior football this season despite suffering a recent calf setback.
He sensationally requested a trade to the Sydney Swans in the off-season but was denied the move by Essendon.
